Registration Fees & Deadlines

To help us streamline our seasons startup process and provide a more organized experience for your athletes please register early:

September 1 Deadline: Secure your spot by September 1 to lock in standard pricing.
CMBA fall league
U11 - U15 Fees: $550 (Includes a warm up tee and reversible practice jersey)
U18 Fees: $315 (Includes a warm up tee and reversible practice jersey)
Late Fees: Registrations completed after this date will incur late charges. Early sign-ups ensure we can determine how best to utilize our resources and finalize logistics as early as possible.

Friday night Tykes Program (6-7 yrs & 8-9 yrs)

We offer a dedicated program tailored for our youngest athletes to build foundational skills and fall in love with the game:

Important Schedule Changes

The Calgary Minor Basketball Association (CMBA) is debuting an updated 26-27 Schedule Format to maximize competitive balance for our older divisions:

Bi-Weekly Doubleheaders: Teams will play two games every other Saturday.
Age Group Rotations: U11 and U18 play one weekend; U13 and U15 play the alternating weekend. The total number of season games remains the same.
Fluid Reseeding: There are no set divisions until playoffs. CMBA will reseed teams after every two-week cycle to ensure closer, more exciting matchups.

Evaluation & Season Timelines

Our season kicks off quickly in September:

Evaluations: Begin the first or second week of September as long as we receive confirmation of our gyms. U18 teams will start first as they play earlier. The evaluation process takes about two weeks, and you will receive your team selection after all division evaluations are done.
Team & Practice Schedules: Team placements, practice days, and times will be finalized only after all evaluations wrap up and coaches are assigned.
Generally we practice in Chestermere Monday - Thursday in the time slots of 6:00 - 7:30 pm and 7:30 - 9:00 pm, however there will be times we will practice in Langdon or Strathmore if our usual gym times are not available.
Season End: The season concludes on February 27 for U11-U15, followed by the Youth Provincial Tournament for qualifying teams. U18 schedules will start Sept 19, 2026 and conclude one week before high school tryouts.

We are modernizing how we connect and support our basketball community:

Team Communication: We are moving to the TeamLinkt App. Please download it to stay updated on schedules. (Note: The free version includes ads; an optional paid upgrade is available to remove them).
Direct CMBA Support: CMBA has introduced a new paid Director of Communications role to reduce the burden on zone volunteers. For league-wide questions, you can now email league@cmba.ab.ca directly. Continue contacting CLS Minor Basketball for local zone-specific questions.
